REVIEW & RELEASE

Title: His Brother’s Fiancée
Author: Vivian Wood
Genre: New Adult/Contemporary Romance
Release Date: March 27, 2018

From Wall Street Journal & USA Today Bestseller Vivian Wood comes a taboo tale of love, lust, and longing.

I loved her once, a long time ago.

Effie goddamn White, the raven-haired, pouty-lipped temptress.

Hell, I was f*cking obsessed with her. Her touch, her smell, her taste… I couldn’t get enough.

And she shattered my cold, hardened heart into a million pieces.

I’ll never let that happen again. Ever. I know better.

My brother Thorne waited in the wings. When I left, he pounced. Now I’m back, and Effie’s on Thorne’s arm, wearing Thorne’s ring.

But she’s looking at me. And when we are trapped together, she’s undressing me with those baby blue eyes. Touching me. Tormenting me.

That thing that I said would never happen twice?

F*ck, she’s doing it to me again. And I love the way it feels, almost as much as she does...

My Readultery Life Review
Having read a few Vivian Wood’s books, I jumped at the chance to read His Brothers Fiancée. While this book may not be for everyone this reader certainly enjoyed the book.

In this book we meet Effie and King, who have a lot of history between them. Back in high school, Effie and King dated. Being a year apart and in different graduation classes meant that decisions about their relationship would be made that neither of them liked. King left for California and Effie stayed in Chicago. Both characters are left heartbroken.
Because of her heart being broken, she turned to Kings brother Thorne for comfort. Fast forward a few years and Effie is still with Thorne, but she comes home to a nasty little surprise. On a side note, Thorne is a nasty piece of work, you’ll have to read the story to understand my opinion, but I certainly wanted to give him a slap or two.

Having had her heart broken yet again, she flees her home and goes to a place which holds fond memories for her. Unbeknownst to Effie, so is walking in to a past from her past surprise.

When King left for California, he never expected he would be doing it alone. Wanting to make a name for himself and to create some distance from his family name he allies himself with some unsavoury characters. Living this lifestyle can take its toll on you, so wanting to leave and start afresh he heads to his family cabin to recuperate from a beating he took because of wanting to leave the criminal lifestyle.

Of course, being stuck in a small cabin due to bad weather, gives these characters the perfect opportunity to rekindle their relationship. Of course, its never that easy and both characters certainly fight the chemistry that they have for each other.
Effie, as a soft heart that has been taken for granted by her family and Throne. It was lovely seeing her stand up against her family members and fight for what she wanted. Maybe it is down to her age, but at times I did struggle with Effie’s character and her immature behaviour. But overall, she is a relatable character who has had her heart broken by the people who are meant to love her the most.

King has hardened his heart and his attitude, maybe that’s down to his criminal activities or not having the one person who he wanted to build a life with. When reading His Brother’s Fiancée, I was instantly connected with King, even though he comes across as a badass, he has a heart. One that was broken at a young age. It was refreshing to see this in a male character, he just seemed more realistic and relatable.
While this book took me some time to get into the story and relate to certain characters, it is certainly worth a read. The chemistry between the characters was hot, especially when they gave into their desires!!!

**** 4 Stars
