Blurb

I’m filthy rich and dripping with power – but the army left me broken beyond repair.
My jagged edges make me a nightmare.

She wants to join my dark solitude.
But where she seeks solace, I seek sanity.

The Velvet Rooms provide our sanctuary. A place of safety, bliss and unbridled play, untainted by the clamor of reality.

Here, there is no sight.
There is no sound.
Only skin against skin.
Testing. Claiming.

But as much as I want her - she can never truly be mine.

Because the madness always finds me. Even in the darkness.
And this time it may be too late to stop the beast from destroying everything.

My Readultery Life Review

What a delightful read, I was expecting lots of heavy sex scenes, and while they are plenty in the book, they have a very sensual feel that made for easy reading. While I love a good descriptive sex scene, it was very refreshing to still have plenty of sex in a book but written in way that made my skin tingle rather than my heart racing, it’s a reaction that I haven’t experienced in a book for a very long time.

Blue Velvet is told from both dual POV’s which allows the reader to become invested in both the hero and heroine, they are able to tell their story. Both characters come from different backgrounds but are ultimately they are both damaged goods. Through the quiet and calm of the story they are able to heal each other.

Rowen, our hero, was extremely likeable and hot. As a result of his time serving his country Rowen is left partially deaf.  Once a rebellious kid, he is readjusting to life after the military. With his Dom like tendencies, he seeks out a willing participant at the Blue Velvet Club, where he meets Melina, instantly he is drawn to her.

Melina, the bartender at Blue Velvet doesn’t break the rules, but something about Rowen makes her take chances that she never taken before. From their first meeting Melian is prepared to push her boundaries. While she is willing to take a chance on a relationship with Rowen, she still has her own secret, her own shame that she must overcome to finally be able to move on.

While this couple experiences a few bumps in their journey, it is a insta-love that neither character was looking for. As the relationship develops the reader is able to feel the emotions that the characters are experiencing whether it be shame, angst or lust.

This is a well written story that overs a great depth of emotion. I haven’t read anything by this author previous to reading Blue Velvet, but I will be checking out some of her other books.

**** 4 Stars
