My Readultery Life Review

Lately I am craving lots of Mafia romances, Blood and Secrets is helping with this craving. I loved this book and the unusual storyline drew me in quickly. Although it does end on a cliff-hanger, and what a bloody brilliant twist, I never saw that happening, As a result of the intriguing and captivating storyline I am on tenterhooks to read the next book within the series.

Now, most of you know that I love a good alpha book boyfriend, and Mateo, our hero is right up there in my collection of alpha Mafia males. He is brutal, arrogant, blunt and blood thirsty. Born into the Calvetti family and raised as the next leader, Mateo knows that he must set an example in all areas of his life, business and personal. This Queen must be prepared to stand by him, be cold and untouchable, never showing any weakness. The only way to achieve this is to train his future wife, one that was arranged many years ago.

Carina Ricci, is going through hell. Being punished for her mother’s mistakes and shortcomings. Not only that she is being trained and abused emotionally. This takes a toll on her mental state and as a result Carina suffers a psychotic break. Without giving too much away, let’s just say that there is more to Carina than meets the eye.

I loved a good dark mafia romance, and although this sets the story, I can see just how dark Rose Harper is prepared to go for this story. I was entranced by Carina and Mateo’s dynamics and I can wait to see how their relationship develops.

Will Mateo get the Queen that he wants, or will Carina make this King bow down to her? Guess we will have to wait for the next instalment, hopefully the wait won’t be too long!!!
