Review: King's Reign (Sydney Storm MC #6)

by Nina Levine

The epic conclusion to King's story.

I was chasing pure darkness.
Succumbing to the needs I’d forced to the far edges of my soul.
Running like a madman towards evil.
Then I found her.
She breathed life into me when I hadn’t thought there was any life beyond what I knew.
She gave me hope after I’d forgotten what it was.
She helped quiet the demons raging deep inside me.
Now I will lay myself bare for her.
I will bleed for her.
I will love her madly, deeply, passionately, completely.

This is the conclusion to King's story. All the ugly and all the beautiful, by the end of this duet you will come to understand the man behind the club.

King's story is told over two books - King's Wrath & King's Reign.

My Readultery Life Review

Back in 2015, I discovered this amazing genre of books and an author, that I had never read before. Nina Levine’s Sydney Storm MC Series ignited my love for alpha males and my love for MC romances. With each book that I read from her Sydney Storm series my love for her series and my obsession King grew and I waited patiently till now for this story to be told.

Kings story is spread over two novels, King’s Wrath and King’s Reign. And all I can say is that the wait has been worth it. Nina’s talent for writing gritty alpha males/leaders shines through and I have to say that I believe King is the best character she has written to date.

I made the decision to not read King’s Wrath until the release of King’s Reign as I didn’t want the gap between the two books. Like I said before, the wait was so worth it. Nina was able to create the perfect flow from the first book into the second book. It was awesome seeing the flashbacks into Kings past in the first book, we were given the information that I so longed to know about King. What made him is tough as nail, no holds bar alpha male, well in King's Wrath my questions are answered. I couldn’t have picked a better background story for his MC leader.

King’s Reign was beautiful. Simply beautiful, which is hard to picture from an MC romance, usually they are full off sex (which we get), angst (which we get) and action (there’s lots in this story), but there was something about seeing his tough biker find the one person who can bring a very rare smile to his weathered face. While King’s Reign ties up loose ends, it is ultimately King’s love story.

Kings character knows NO boundaries. He has the filthiest mouth that I have read in a novel (but I find this very attractive, maybe it’s the character but I love this quality of King’s). While he comes across as the ultimate alpha, he has a heart if gold and this innate need to protect his brothers and his family.

When I pictured the perfect partner for King, she would have to be this strong, sassy and independent woman who had the ability to stand her ground. Nina was able to write Lily’ character just like I imagined. She is just as protective and loyal to those who she loves. She is the calm in King’s storm. The chemistry between Lily and King was magnetic. While King has experienced love before, there is something that Lily offers King that he has never experienced before, maybe its that fact she accepts him for who he is and doesn’t try to change him. But their relationship shows us a soft side to King that we haven’t seen in the previous books and there’s only one word that I want to use to describe their relationship and that is EPIC!

King’s Reign was everything that we could want from an MC romance. It is also the ultimate finish to an amazing series from Nina. It will grip your heart and leave you feeling hungover when you put the book down. While reading you can see the time and effort Nina has put into this duet and King the story that he deserves.

As a reader and a fan off her work, I am grateful that she took her time with these books, I don’t think you could have done a better job!! Thank You Nina, for giving us a fantastic series and writing characters that aren’t your typical male models. On a personal note, thank you for giving me a new love for MC romances, I will forever be grateful for a fantastic introduction to what MC romances are meant to be and what they represent.

I would have to say that this is my favourite MC series that I have ever read and the perfect addition to my favourite reads for 2018.
