My Readultery Life Review


Wild Card by Lila Monroe this the next instalment to her Billionaire Bachelors Series. Every book is a standalone, but we do see characters from the previous books in the series, Very Irresistible Playboy and Hot Daddy. Every book in the series just gets better and better. Wild Card is probably my favourite book off the series so far.

Who doesn’t love a ‘pretend boyfriend/girlfriend’ story? They are my favourite summer read and Wild Card is a great addition to my collection.

The story revolves around Olivia and Ryan, who both need each other to make things happen in their lives. What starts out as a business arrangement becomes so much more than these characters expected. 

Olivia runs a dating service and has made numerous matches with positive results. But her own love life is lacking. Due to attend another off her father’s wedding, Olivia needs a plus one.

Enter Ryan Callahan.

Ryan Callahan is an ex-NFL QB who needs a confident woman at his side to help secure a business deal. With both characters needing each other’s help, they make a business deal. 

Simple, Right?

But as soon as Olivia and Ryan start spending time together their ‘professional’ deal quickly changes to pleasure. Something that they never expected to happen. 

I thoroughly enjoyed Olivia and Ryan’s chemistry, it was off the charts. As you read more off their story you see their relationship change and we start to see the lengths that they are prepared to go for each other. There was great growth in their relationship that started off platonic and changed into a romantic relationship, though this change your see our character grow into their skin and realise their worth, as individuals and as a couple. 

While I enjoyed the chemistry between Olivia and Ryan, it was their fun and witty banter that shone through and made this story so much more engaging. 

Lila Monroe has written a fantastic romantic comedy that isn’t over the top. Its perfect. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
